Embrace Baltimore

The Southern Baptist Convention held its Annual Meeting right here in Baltimore, June 10-11, 2014. We were excited to hold Crossover Baltimore on June 7, 2014. It was a great opportunity to participate in mobilizing believers to do good deeds by demonstrating God’s love through practical acts of service throughout our city and respective neighborhoods.

We implemented
Crossover Baltimore by partnering with Baltimore Baptist Association churches, other strategic partners throughout Baltimore, individuals, and ministries coming to be part of Crossover.
Our desire was to mobilize a substantial number of volunteers to impact our city/region with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Various projects, locations, and necessary volunteers needed to execute
Crossover Baltimore were identified and included. Won’t you pray about your church’s possible role in being part of this endeavor and teaming up with others to saturate Baltimore with the love of Christ.

BALTIMORE, Md. - Dante Carter has compassion for the broken lives he sees around him. Brokenness would be a fair description for Baltimore's Armistead Gardens.

Carter, youth pastor at Northeast Baptist Church (NBC) in the heart of the Armistead Gardens community, says he wanted
Crossover Baltimore to communicate to the hurting people he encounters.

"There's a lot of hurt and pain in Armistead Gardens," said Carter. "We want to give people an opportunity to hear the gospel preached and to experience the love of Christ through the people of our church."

He saw visiting Southern Baptists working alongside the local association, churches of Houston and hundreds of other Southern Baptists from across the nation. All were gathering together for the citywide service and outreach initiative preceding the SBC annual meeting.

BALTIMORE—More than 20 churches of the Baltimore Baptist Association (BBA) gathered together at Manna Bible Baptist Church in Baltimore on June 2 to worship, pray and cast vision for next year’s Crossover, an evangelistic outreach that precedes the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting. The worship, fellowship, and preaching in humility were intoxicating.

Thousands of Southern Baptists will converge in Baltimore on June 10-11, 2014, for the annual Southern Baptist Convention. Through the combined efforts of the Baltimore Baptist Association (BBA), the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D), and the North American Mission Board (NAMB), there will be multi-faceted evangelistic opportunities to serve the area through Crossover.
